REVIEW: The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream
9:03:00 AMAs I promised, I'd like to review The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. This is suitable for combination/oily skin.
When I apply it, it is absorbed so quickly that I can't see where it is lol
I apply it after using toner daily before going out. Small amount (about M&M candy sized) is enough to apply entire face.
As the result come, it mattes my skin and moisturizes without feeling oily, thanks to its light weight formula. Also, my skin feels baby soft and smooth. It doesn't clog pores too. But the sad is, the excessive oil comes again on my T-zone after 4 hours usage and it makes shine around it. However, using moisturizer is better than nothing because you can see my excessive oil production below:
Without usage (cleanse + tone)
With usage (cleanse + tone + moisturize)
(sorry for the disgusting pictures lol)
In conclusion, here's the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Light weight formula and oil free.
- Nice scent.
- Easily absorbed.
- Mattifies my skin and feel soft.
- Doesn't clog pores.
Cons:
- Pricey! (Rp 149.000,-)
- Not great in controlling shine and excess sebum (in tropical country).
I have repurchased it once. On first time, it ran off after 4-5 months usage. And yeah, you know that this is the second pack I use. Well, I'm searching for moisturizer that is affordable and works better than this moisturizer. If you have recommendation, please tell me by sending comment. I will thank you a lot :)
If I got better moisturizer with affordable price, I wouldn't repurchase lol.
You might like it if you have combination skin or if you live in cold weather city, especially on winter. You might not like it if you have oily to very oily skin like me, or if you live in tropical country. If you have oily to very oily skin, you might like The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion. I haven't used it before, but it claims that it is suitable to oily and acne-prone skin.
That's all for today, now it's 11:00 PM in Indonesia time. Time to sleep, please comment if you desire. Night!
